Mattea Davidson
ATHLETE - COACH - BREEDER - VET
Mattea's first introduction to horses was through a school friend whose father started the Brisbane Polo Club. From there she worked her way up the grades, from Pony Club and Interschools to CCI4* level eventing and World Cup level jumping.
While working at well known Australian eventer Kevin McNab’s stable she met her husband Shane Davidson. Together they started Davidson Equestrian with a focus on producing horses from birth to top level competition. In addition to this they are keeping busy teaching young riders and training, campaigning and producing horses for sale.
In the competition off-season Mattea is also actively engaged in being an equine reproduction veterinarian. As a qualified and experienced vet she is handling all the stud work, including scanning and insemination. She is very particular about the welfare of all horses to ensure health and fitness levels are maintained to high standards.
